William Charles Zulauf 86, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living, Maurertown, VA. A funeral Service for Mr. Zulauf will be conducted at 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Stover Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Zulauf was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey on July 26, 1931 a son of the late Francis Rusling and Hester Wiseburn Zulauf. He joined the National Guard and was activated into the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. Mr. Zulauf was a volunteer fireman with the Tri-County Fire Company in New Jersey where he served two terms as Chief. In 1990, Bill and his wife moved to Strasburg, spending their retirement years in community service, church and library. Bill was the scout master for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 57. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Arna H. Zulauf; his daughter, Barbara Ziacoma; his son, Dr. Barry Zulauf (Shirley); grandchildren, Bianca Ziacoma, Allycia Ziacoma, Paul Ziacoma (Mandy), Elizabeth Zulauf, Alexander Zulauf and Chamberlain Zulauf; great-grandchildren, Kyle Chase, Devon Chase, Leah Chase, Caleb Ziacoma and Jenson Ziacoma; one sister, Elizabeth Paris; several nieces and nephews along with many friends. Pallbearers will be Barry Zulauf, Bianca Ziacoma, Paul Ziacoma, Elizabeth Zulauf, Alexander Zulauf, and Chamberlain Zulauf. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
