Obituary

William Delmar "Bill" Stickley age 78, a resident of Strasburg passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service for Mr. Stickley will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg. He was born in Strasburg, VA on November 11, 1933 a son of the late Clydess Delmar and Helen "Tootie" Mitchell Stickley. He was a 1954 graduate of Strasburg High School and a member of Strasburg Presbyterian church. He worked for Avtex Fibers in Front Royal, VA for over 20 years until they closed. He enjoyed early morning coffee with his friends, visiting with his friends at the Farmers Livestock Exchange, farming and watching Strasburg High School, Marion High School, and area youth league athletics, especially when his grandchildren were participating. Bill loved life and dearly loved his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eddie Stickley and Elizabeth Ann Vance. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Devers Stickley of Strasburg; his children, C.D. Stickley and wife, Pam of Marion, VA, Darrell Stickley of Strasburg, Barbie Kibler and husband, Gary of Toms Brook and Scott D. Stickley of Strasburg.; grandchildren, Amy S. Himelright of Toms Brook, Brian Kibler and wife, Sheila of Strasburg, William D. Stickley, II and wife, Leslie of Marion, VA, Samuel Stickley and Fiancée Lorin Wright of Toms Brook, Emily K. Barnes and husband, Jay of Strasburg, Wesley Stickley of Greensboro, NC, Stephen Stickley, Sheldon Stickley both of Strasburg, Brady Kibler of Toms Brook and Seth Stickley of Strasburg; great-grandchildren, Emma Himelright, Piper Himelright both of Toms Brook, Noah Kibler of Strasburg; step-great-grandson, Brock Davidson of Marion, VA and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their uncle Bill very much. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 P.M.
