William (BI) Randolph Rutherford

William R. "B.I.", Rutherford, loving husband, father, and Papaw, 74, of Strasburg, VA. died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11am at Stover Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Keith Warren. Burial followed at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

William was born April 28, 1939, in Front Royal, VA., son of the late James Robert and Sarah Frances Elizabeth Rutherford.

B.I. was a Batch Man/Supervisor at Crider & Shockey for 27 years, retiring on July 31, 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sally Thomas Rutherford. Along with his wife, he is survived by his six children, sons, William Wesley Rutherford of Strasburg, James Perry Rutherford and wife, Justina of Strasburg, and Thomas Clark Newcomb of Strasburg; daughters, Tammy Darlene Robinson and husband, Jeffrey of Strasburg, Kathy Lynn Varndell and husband, Ricky of Maurertown, and Jacquelyn Diane Barnett of Wardensville, W.V.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

William is survived by three brothers, James "Sonny" Rutherford and wife Zessie of Front Royal, Russell Rutherford of Front Royal, Richard Rutherford of Winchester, three sisters, Martha Wood of Front Royal, Jane Moore and husband Larry of Front Royal, and Sheila Chirgwin and husband Kent of Strasburg.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Emmett "Bo" Rutherford and Roger Rutherford.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Zachary Rutherford, Jamie Rutherford, Ricky Varndell, and Grant Sager.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Robinson, Kent Chirgwin, and Tony Rutherford.

B.I. will be missed by all his family and friends, especially his Chihuahua's, Little Man and Little Girl who spent every day with him and loved him dearly.

The family will received friends Tuesday evening at Stover Funeral Home 6-8 pm.
