Sandra Vannoy Lowry

Sandra Vannoy Lowry, 83, of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Cambridge Landing in Strasburg, VA. 

Sandy was born in New Tazewell, Tennessee on February 24, 1942, a daughter of the late James Henry and Helen Irene Baker Vannoy. Sandy was full of love, always had a warm smile, and loved to laugh. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel special. She enjoyed card games, bird watching, and children, especially her own children and grandchildren. And she gave the BEST hugs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Brad Vannoy and Mike Vannoy.

She is survived by her spouse Charles Edward Lowry; her children Jennifer Lowry McAndrew (Edward D.) and Melissa Kay Lowry Beatty (Joseph A.); her grandchildren Vlad McAndrew, Luba McAndrew, Benjamin Beatty, and Hannah Beatty; and her two sisters Nancy Hillmann and Brenda Todd.

The family will gather at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory in Strasburg, VA on Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. to receive friends. A graveside service for Sandy will be held privately.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Sandy Lowry.
