Samuel Donald Crist , Jr.

Samuel Donald Crist, Jr., 74, of Strasburg, VA, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at his home in Strasburg, VA.

Mr. Crist was born on January 16, 1951, to the late Samuel Donald and Nannie Grimsley Crist, Sr., in Front Royal, VA. He was a loving husband, father and great friend. Mr. Crist worked and retired from Dupont, before taking a job locally here with the county at the convenience center, where he made many friends along the way. Sam enjoyed nature, hunting, NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, his cat Sweet Pea and watching western movies as well as horror films. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Kibler.

He is survived by his wife Mary “Cathy” Crist; his children Kenneth Day (Teresa), Stephen Day (C.J.), Thomas Day (Michelle), and Jonathan Day; his siblings Doris Crist Buracker, and Cathy Good; Eight grandchildren and Four great grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Mr. Crist will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory, Strasburg, VA.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
