Sallie Bell Newman Alsberry, a resident of Strasburg passed away on Saturday August 25, 2012 at Greenfield Senior Living, Woodstock, VA. A memorial service for Mrs. Alsberry will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carter Alsberry, Jr. officiating. She was born in Middletown, VA on November 27, 1940 a daughter of the late Robert L. & Catherine V. Williams Newman. She worked private duty as a nursing caregiver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven siblings. Survivors include her husband, James Frank Alsberry of Strasburg; her siblings, Anna R. Shane of Winchester, Edna Herd of Middletown, Rebecca Finley of Winchester, Cindy Williams of Fredericksburg, Louis Newman of Strasburg, David Newman of Winchester, John Williams of Washington DC, Frances Williams of Maryland, Amos Williams of Woodstock; six step-children; numerous step-grand and great-grandchildren; Memorials may be made to Stover Funeral Home, 177 N.
