Ruth Gene Sonner

Ruth Gene Sonner, 96, of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at The Maynard in Strasburg, VA. 

Mrs. Sonner was born in Strasburg, VA on October 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Frank Camden and Edna Christina Stephens Sonner.  She was a retired switchboard operator with C&P Telephone where she worked for over 30 years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Alvin Sonner and Melvin Sonner.  

Survivors include her brothers Calvin Sonner (Patricia) of Strasburg, VA and Charles Sonner (Barbara) of Aiken, SC; her sisters-in-law Janet Sonner and Laura Sonner; her nephew Bill Sonner along with three nieces Ann, Esther, and Jane. 

A graveside service for Mrs. Sonner will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Rob Lovett officiating.
