Richard Eugene Stickley, age 75, of Middletown passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Toms Brook United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Throckmorton and Rev. William Wade officiating. Mr. Stickley was born September 27, 1937 in Middletown, a son of the late Herbert Eugene and Madaline Brill Stickley. He attended Toms Brook United Methodist Church, was a member of and past governor of Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403 and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 824, Wincherster. He retired from CSX Railroad as a track inspector with 33 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Ritenour Stickley; three sons, Richard E. Stickley of Morristown, TN, Brian L. Stickley and companion, Mary Haun of Strasburg and Johnnie M. Stickley of Middletown; his daughter, Brandy Funkhouser and husband, Gerry of Toms Brook; seven grandchildren, Amber Holmes, Lonnie Phillips, Ryan Stickley, Taylor Stickley, Trent Perry, Morgan Stickley and Alexis Funkhouser; extended grandchildren, Brittany Lofthouse, Faith Coffeltt and Jokob Cousins. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 No. Holliday St., Strasburg on Tuesday from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
