Rev. Roger C. Mullins Obituary

Roger Carl Mullins, age 81, a resident of Strasburg, VA left this world and entered Heaven, on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service for Mr. Mullins will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Middletown, VA (formerly Meadow Brook Bible Baptist Church) with Rev. James Bailey, Rev. Chad Estep and Rev. Keith Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Middletown. VA.

Roger was born in Pound, Virginia on March 12, 1939 a son of the late Jasper J. “Jack” and Hazel D. Whitt Mullins. He became ordained to preach the gospel in 1970. Roger pastored for over 40 years beginning at Daisey’s Chapel in Charlestown, WV, Antioch Baptist in Broadway, VA, First Freewill Baptist in Stephens City, VA and Meadow Brook Bible Baptist in Middletown, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Vera Sue Moore and two brothers Jasper, Jr. and Larry N. Mullins.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia J. “Pat” Mullins of Strasburg, VA; three daughters Rhonda S. Sager (Ronald), Melissa G. Snyder (Dale), and Rebecca D. Mathews (Glen); two sons Roger Christopher Mullins (Mary Shannon) and Brent A. Mullins (Teresa); his grandchildren Renee L. Glovier (Dave), Randi N. Wielert (Corey), Rachel B. Sager (Gunther), Drew M. Mathews, Tanner C. Mathews, Makayla L. Almond (Tyler), Grace C. Mahoney (Bailey), Ella P. Mullins, Ava S. Mullins, Seth A. Mullins, Ian J. C. Mullins, Abigail M. Mullins, and Alexis S. Mullins; his great-grandchildren Gwen, Deacon, and Charlotte Glovier, Rileigh Almond, Eliza and Harper Wielert; his siblings, Elaine Maxwell, Ronnie, Glen and Stevie Mullins along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sons, grandsons, and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
