Raymond Sibert, Jr. Obituary

Raymond Lee Sibert, Jr., 84, of Star Tannery, VA passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at his home in Star Tannery.

Mr. Sibert was born in New Jersey on August 4, 1940, a son of the late Raymond Lee and Della Orndorff Sibert, Sr.  He was at veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a retired heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Mr. Sibert loved to dance and was a car enthusiast.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Stanley Sibert and Robert Sibert. 

Survivors include his wife Linda Sibert of Star Tannery; his children Marc Sibert and Stacy Ann Graubart (Gary) all of Beachwood, NJ; stepdaughter Heather Swierczek (Mike) of Pottstown, PA; eight grandchildren; a special cousin Ralph Orndorff (Debbie) along with numerous other extended family members.

A funeral service for Mr. Sibert will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Cedar Creek Christian Church with Pastor Wayne Racey officiating.  Burial will follow in Gravel Springs Cemetery.  Full military honors will be given by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. 

The Pallbearers will be Ralph Orndorff, Anthony Hamrick, Joshua Ryder, Dalton Dillman, Michael Swierczek, and Gary Graubart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Susan Ritenour, Krystal Shamblin, Cole Swierczek, and Steven Swierczek. 

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Cedar Creek Christian Church-Building Fund, 291 Saumsville Rd, Woodstock, VA 22664 or Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.
