Ray Rowland Loving 84, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at his residence.

A celebration of life for Mr. Loving will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Walnut Springs Christian Church with Rev. Wendell Schurtz officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Walnut Springs Christian Church from 6-8 p.m.

Ray was born at home in the Oranda community of Strasburg on March 11, 1935 a son of the late Edgar Freed and Mildred Lee Rowland Loving. He was a graduate of Strasburg High School and a life member of Walnut Spring Christian Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Elder, Trustee Chairman and a member of the Choir. Ray was a U.S Air Force veteran where he served as part of the 7th Bomb Wing, B 36 Bomb Squadron in Fort Worth Texas. He was a member of the North Shenandoah Ruitan Club for 31 years and the Powhatan Club for 15 years for a total of 46 years of service. Ray retired from Columbia Gas Company in Strasburg where he worked for 29 years. Ray served as the Chairman of the Oranda School House and planned the first Tractor Parade in Oranda. He loved farming, mowing and baling hay, deer hunting, being in the woods enjoying wildlife and his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Glenna McBride Loving; his beloved children, Monty R. Loving and wife Laura, Mark F. Loving and wife, Lora; his grandchildren, Hunter C. Loving, Haley R. Loving, Loran L. Loving and Lenzi F. Loving; his foster daughter, "Barbara" Mary Rose Loving; his sister, Janet L. Mowery and many beloved nieces and nephews.
