Pamela Sue Ashby, age 47, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Consulate Health Care, Woodstock, VA.

A memorial service for Mrs. Ashby will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Howard officiating.

She was born on May 16, 1965 in Shenandoah County, VA a daughter of Penny Paige "Lil Ma" Putman and the late Marshall "Trickie" Neff. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles William Putman, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Goliday Putman.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Ashby of Strasburg, VA; her mother, Penny Paige "Lil Ma" Putman; a sister, Cindy Lou Putman Hulver and husband David; nephews, Daryl R. Hulver and his son, Joseph, and Fiancé Amber Peacemaker, David W. Hulver and his son, Brodie, Shawn M. Hulver all of Strasburg, VA; uncles, Randolph E. "Tommy" Putman and wife Helen of Front Royal, Charles W. "Dickie" Putman of Luray, VA; aunts, Sharon A. Putman of Woodstock, VA and Peggy L. Putman of Edinburg, VA; cousins, Cathy Tharpe and husband Larry of Strasburg, Jennifer Tusing and husband John of Woodstock, Misty Putman of Front Royal, Melissa Vann-Combs and husband, Roy W. of Fort Valley, Kimberly D. Hamm and companion Robbie Reams of Mt. Jackson, Bradie Putman of Front Royal, Brandon Tusing and Krissica Tusing both of Woodstock, Maynard Vann, Pamela Combs both of Fort Valley, Darrell "DJ" Hamm Jr. of Mt. Jackson and Tammy Neff of Avon Park, FL; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Ashby of Strasburg.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of Memorial contributions made to Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg, VA 22657 to assist with final expenses.
