Norma Leigh (Harmon) Dano

Norma Leigh Harmon Dano 77, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at her home in Winchester, VA.

A memorial service for Norma will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathleen Haynes and Pastor David Nesselrodt  officiating.

Norma was born in Woodstock, VA on April 16, 1944 a daughter of the late Grover Hugh and Anna Belle Hoover Harmon She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was also of member of the Strasburg Women of the Moose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royden Kenneth Dano (Kenny), a daughter, Sabrina Leigh Dano, and a sister Joyce Ann Harmon Weeks.

Survivors include her daughter, Rene Dano Haley  (Hartwell “Pic” Slayden) of Winchester, VA; her granddaughter, Jessica Eback and husband David; her great granddaughters, Raygen and Kenadi Eback; her sisters, Betty Wakeman and husband Bob of Maurertown, VA, Sue Walker of Strasburg, VA, Gloria Campbell and husband Tommy of Toms Brook, VA, and Kathy Denton and husband Terry of Strasburg, VA along with several nieces and nephews; her caregiver, Dixie Plaugher.

Honorary pallbearers will be William “Bill” Weeks, Robert “Bob” Wakeman, Tommy Campbell, Terry Denton, Gary Walker, and Darrell Bible.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
