Nancy McInturff Hockman age 72 of Strasburg, passed away, Thursday, June 30, 2011. A funeral service for Mrs. Hockman will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Lebanon Lutheran Church with Pastor JD Cutlip and Father Peter Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hockman was born on August 8, 1938 in Toms Brook, Virginia, the daughter of Louise W. McInturff and the late Ephraim (Buck) McInturff. She attended Toms Book High School and graduated in 1958. She was employed by Shenandoah County Public Schools as an Instructional Aide, retiring in 2008, after 32 years. She was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church and served as chairman of the church council as well as numerous other committees. She was also a member of the Strasburg Fire Department auxiliary, Oranda F.C.E., Daughter of the Stars of the P. Buckley Moss Society and the Republican Women of Shenandoah County. She is survived by her husband, James C. Hockman and her children, Teresa K. Wright, Melissa D. Hockman and William C. Hockman, all of Strasburg. She is also survived by grandchildren Chris Hockman, Kathryn Flynn and Kara Hockman of Strasburg and Jason Wright of Woodstock and four great grandchildren. Other survivors of her family include her mother, Louise W. McInturff of Toms Brook, her sisters Patricia Dellinger of Toms Brook and Linda Epard of Strasburg. Active pallbearers will be George Phillips, Brett Phillips, Robbie Parks, Tom Estep, Dave Fleming and Glen Keller. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Saturday evening. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Lebanon Lutheran Church, 10120 Middle Road, Lebanon Church, VA 22641 and the Susan G.
