Minnett Maxine Strother, a resident of Strasburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2012. She was born in Fisher Hill, VA on March 27, 1954, a daughter of Shirley S. Newman (Late Kenneth M. Strother) and her step father of many years Louis J. Newman of Strasburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kendria Mitchell and Grandmother Lillian Hall. In addition to her mother and step-father she is survived by her son Tyrone L. Strother(Sissy) of Springfield, VA, four grandchildren; Breanna and Jayden Scott, Skylar and Xavier Strother; four sisters, , Lillian Thomas(Robert), Janet Roberts(Carroll), Betty Kay Strother of Strasburg and Terry Warner of Stephen City; one brother, Lawrence Strother(Alma) of North Charleston, SC. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will be accepting friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 7-9pm at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church located at 339 W. Queen St. Strasburg, VA 22657. Services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2pm at Strasburg United Methodist Church located at 114 W.
