Mary Morris Funk

SERVICE LOCATION CHANGE - Services for Mrs. Funk will be held at  12:00 noon at Stover Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  

Mary Morris Funk 86, of Strasburg, VA, passed away Thursday January 13th 2022, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Front Royal VA.

A funeral service for Mrs. Funk will conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday January 18, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Lovett officiating.  The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  Mrs. Funk will be laid to rest privately.

Mary was born in Strasburg VA on March 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Wilbur Webster and Anna Mary Airhart Morris.  She was a graduate of Strasburg High School and worked numerous jobs in the Valley such as Aileen, Judds, and Lear Corporation before her retirement.  She was a member of the Strasburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  All who knew Mary, knew she lived for her children and grandchildren, and they were by far her greatest accomplishments.  Nothing made her happier than spending time with them and traveling to see them.  She was the wife of the late Jack C. Funk.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Betty Wright, Jean Duffield, Margaret Morris, Donald Morris, and Mildred Dawson and Louise Murray her sister-in-law who she lived with for over 25 years.

Survivors include her children Jacklyn L. Taff and husband Tracy of Maurertown, VA, and Marilyn M. Stanley and husband Michael of Camden, Delaware.  Her grandchildren Ryan Taff and his wife Brittany, Matthew Stanley of Astoria New York, and Mikalyn Stanley and fiancé Aaron Crisp of Dover DE, and her great-grandchildren Jaxtyn, Tobias, and Briar Taff.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Taff, Michael Stanley, Matthew Stanley, Ryan Taff, and Aaron Crisp.

A Special Thanks to Heritage Hall for taking such good care of her over the years, with special mention to Jean Jenkins, Jennifer Garber, Buffy Carter, and Amanda Livingood for loving her and being there for her when we couldn’t.  We owe you a debt of gratitude.
