Obituary

Mary Vann Thompson 98 of Middletown, VA passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living, Maurertown, VA.

A graveside service for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Pastor David Witt officiating.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Edinburg, VA on August 17, 1918 a daughter of the late Romanas Russell and Ada Alma Rush Sager. She was a member of Opequon Presbyterian Church and the wife of the late Joseph L. Thompson, Jr. Mrs. Thompson worked at the Leggett's Department Store in Winchester for a number of years and then she and her husband operated the Town Restaurant in Middletown, VA for over 20 years.

Survivors include her son, Tommy Thompson and wife, Sharon; two granddaughters, Holly Pennington, Heather Walther and husband, Jason; two great-grandchildren, Emma Pennington and Lane Walther all of Middletown, VA.

Memorials may be made to a Hospice organization of one's choice.
