Obituary

Mary Madolin Schoudt Neff Fewell, age 81, of Strasburg passed away Sunday evening, February 15, 2009 at her home. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Reverend Edward P. Winkler officiating. Burial will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County. Mrs. Fewell was born July 31, 1927 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Russell Lawrence and Nellie Bernice Layman Schoudt. She was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church and a former member of Del Ray United Methodist Church in Alexandria. She retired as Administrative Assistant from HDR Architects & Engineers, Alexandria after 33 years of service in May of 1989. She was also a member of Old Dominion Business and Professional Women Club of Virginia, Inc. and was a charter member of the United Methodist Women of Del Ray, a former member of Strasburg Community Library, Strasburg Museum and Strasburg Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Marie Pattison of Strasburg; seven grandchildren, Kimberley Beavers Sorrell and husband, Richard of Woodbridge, VA, Kelley Beavers Davis and husband, Michael of Rowlesburg, WV, Mary Elizabeth Martin and husband, John of Mt. Lake Park, MD, Sarah Margaret Greene and husband, Kevin of Pontiac, MI, Angela Marie Humbertson and husband, Mark of North Hampton, PA, Patricia Ann Thrasher of Mt. Lake Park, MD and Paul A. Pattison and wife, Brenda of North Hampton, PA and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sullivan Fewell; her daughter, Karen Sue Neff Beavers Thrasher; her brother, Paul B. Schoudt and her grandson, Rodney L. Beavers. Pallbearers will be Lawrence E. Beavers, Jerry N. Owens, Glenn Tevault, Joseph Ryman, Jim Raynor and James Smalls. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 No. Holliday St., Strasburg on Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. Memorials may be made to Strasburg United Methodist Church, 114 W. Washington St., Strasburg, VA 22657 or Blue Ridge Hospice, Inc., 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601. A reception will follow the interment at Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg.
