Luella Estep Sager 82, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, VA.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sager will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2017 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with Rev. Heidi David-Young and Rev. Keith Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, VA.

Mrs. Sager was born in Mt. Jackson, VA on March 1, 1935 a daughter of the late Charles William and Amanda Irene Foltz Estep. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where she was part of the ELCW, served on the church council, was a Sunday school teacher and served as the secretary of the Sunday school department. She was a 4-H leader for 25 years and retired from Shenandoah County Public School System where she worked as a custodian for 24 years. She was the wife of the late Jerry Ray Sager. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Sager and siblings, Bobby Estep and Nancy Amanda Estep.

Survivors include her children, Ronald R. Sager and wife Rhonda of Strasburg, VA and Denise I. Sager Gochenour and husband Jeffrey of Star Tannery, VA; her grandchildren, Renee L. Glovier, Randi N. Wielert, Rachel B. Sager, Colleen E. Collette, Johnathan A. Gochenour; two great-grandchildren, Gwen L. Glovier and Deacon C. Glovier; her brother Ricky Estep and wife Sandra and sisters in law, Anna Locke and Ethel Estep.

Pallbearers will be Shaun DeBlasio, Johnathan A. Gochenour, David Glovier, Cory Wielert, Wesley Hockman, Roger Hockman and Robert Gnegy.

The family will receive friends at St. Matthews Lutheran Church on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m.
