Loraine Geneva Racey, age 84, of Strasburg passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the Mausoleum at Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick with Rev. John Haynes, Jr. officiating.

Ms. Racey was born December 12, 1933 in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rebecca Dove Tusing. She was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church and had worked in quality control at Aileen, Inc. for many years. She was a charter member of Strasburg Women of The Moose, Chapter 1319.

Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly Dawn Racey Hetrick and husband, John of Strasburg; two sisters, Mildred Litten of Quicksburg and Remona Coffee, Atlanta, GA; a brother, Charles Tusing of Goldsboro, NC; her granddaughter, Emilee Dawn Loraine Hetrick. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Eugene Shirkey and a sister, Georgie McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Paul Orndorff, John Hetrick, Dennis Wines, Jeff Crider, Clay Campuzano and Marlin Dixon.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg on Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Stover Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
