Lona "Janie" Alderson, age 83 of Strasburg passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. A graveside service for Mrs. Alderson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Edward P. Winkler officiating. She was born in Lebanon, VA on March 24, 1927 a daughter of the late Jerry & Flora Kansas Robbins Helton. She was the widow of Clarence Davis Alderson. Survivors include her four daughters, Dorothy Alderson, Helen Terry all of Strasburg, Patsy Gunter of Winchester, and Barbara Silvious and husband, Jack of Mt. Jackson, and one son, Davis Alderson f Anchorage, Alaska; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Chapman of Lebanon, VA The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave, Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601 or the Strasburg Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O.
