Lloyd "Jinx" Walter Davis

Lloyd Walter “Jinx” Davis, Sr. 75 of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at his home. 

A celebration of life service for Jinx will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Sonya Williams-Giersch officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service. 

Jinx was born in Prince Georges, Maryland on April 3, 1947, a son of the late Lloyd Walter and Virginia Angeline Jones Davis.  He retired from Chemstone having worked for over 36 years and spent many years volunteering his time for Strasburg Midget League Football.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Marion Dorsey, Johnny Davis, Everett Davis, Billy Davis and Susan Burney. 

Survivors include his wife Donna Bromley Davis of Strasburg, VA; his children Christopher Shipe, Devin Davis, Alex Cooper, Tammy Vega and Jessica Monn; his grandchildren Kirsten Cooper, Madison Monn, J.W. Monn, Jr., Ryker Lee Davis, Ryker John Williams, Rachel Cooper, Heather Davis, Holly Reyes, Francisco Chaparro and Remington Cooper; great grandchildren Gavin Shipe, Gracie Shipe, and Helen Shipe; his siblings Barbara Gross (Bob), Nelsie Jamison (Butch), and Kermit Orndorff (Frances) along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mr. Davis’s children along with Kermit Orndorff will serve as honorary pallbearers. 

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Stover Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
