Karen Swartz Obituary

Karen Sue Veach Swartz, 72, of Winchester, VA passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center. 

Karen was born in West Virginia on September 14, 1952, a daughter of the late William Arthur and Dollie Frances Saville Veach.  She was a member of Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church in Winchester and had worked for Sheltered Workshop.  Karen was a volunteer for Hampshire County Helping Hands for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings Gayle Tutwiler, Gary Veach, and Paul Veach. 

Survivors include her husband Allen Dwayne Swartz of Winchester, VA; her son Anthony Jeffries ; step daughters Brandy Swisher, Jennifer Sours, and Helen High along with Mike Boyce who she claimed as her son; her grandchildren Nathaniel Swisher, Austin Swisher, Kristen Sours, Gavin High and Austin Ravenscroft; her siblings Phyllis Norris, Phil Veach (Wanda), Jimmy Veach, Sharilyn Al-Rayess (Haitham), Mark Veach (Sherry), Mike Veach (Connie), Linda Catlett (Donnie), and Susan Veach along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends who will miss her dearly. 

A funeral service for Karen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jeff Dillon officiating.  Karen will be laid to rest privately at the Tearcoat Cemetery in Augusta, WV.  The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. 

The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, 189 Parson Court, Winchester, VA 22603.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the physicians and staff of Winchester Medical Center for the wonderful care given to Karen and the family during this difficult time.
