Judith "Judy" Ann Bridges

Judith Ann “Judy” Bridges, 81, of Belmont, NH and formerly of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at Laconia Concord Hospital in Laconia, NH.

A funeral service for Judy will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at Stover Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in Reliance Cemetery, Middletown, VA.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Judy was born in Portsmouth, VA on May 24, 1942, a daughter of the late Shirley Steele and Homer Grey Sargent and wife Anna May.  She was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and a retired administrator from Loudoun County Public Schools.  Judy loved her two cats Sheba and Queenie, a fierce game of scrabble, was an avid reader, loved history and was a member of the Hamilton Vol. Rescue Squad.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Bruce Bridges and a son Christopher William Bridges.

Survivors include her children David Bridges (Lisa Carignan) of NH, Jeff Bridges (Gay) of Reston, VA, and Mary Bible (David Johnston) of Colonial Heights, VA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings Gale Sowers, Jimmy Sargent, and Eddie Sargent along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Rob Bridges, Clayton Bridges, Bryan Bridges, John Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, Roger Robinson, Kevin Sowers, and David Leonard.
