Juanita Virginia (Wolfe) Artz

Juanita Virginia Wolfe Artz 94 of Strasburg, VA passed away Monday, August 15, 2022.

A graveside service for Mrs. Artz will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Riverview Cemetery. 

Juanita was born on December 10, 1927, in Winchester, VA a daughter of the late Paul Crabill and Mildred Hyla Hodson Wolfe.  She grew up in Strasburg where she graduated high school in 1945.  She was the wife of the late Samuel Franklin Artz, Sr. also of Strasburg whom she married on June 29, 1946.  Juanita took care of her children and home as well as working alongside her husband in the family business, Artz's Hardware. She loved to sing and did so all her life. She served in her church’s choirs and was a long-time member of the Front Royal Oratorio Society. She gave of her time and energy to the Strasburg Community Library and Compassion Cupboard as well as many other charitable organizations.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Samuel Franklin Artz, Jr. and brothers Harold Wolfe and Galen Wolfe.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Artz Paquin and Diane Artz Furlong, grandchildren Adrienne Collegeman, Aaron Collegeman, Leslie Artz, Tim Artz, and Christiana Graves. She had numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
