Joyce Armentrout

Joyce Marie Heishman Armentrout 84, of Maurertown, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center in Winchester.

Mrs. Armentrout will be laid to rest privately.  A celebration of life is being planned for a later date to be announced.
 
Mrs. Armentrout was born at the family home in Maurertown, VA on April 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Jesse Rollings and Elizabeth Nettie Jenkins Heishman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Martin and two infant children Robert and Kathy.   She married the love of her life, Nelson “Bill” Armentrout on April 9, 1955, and graduated from Toms Brook School class of 1957.  Joyce spent her life caring for others.  She was a full-time mother and homemaker to her family.  

Survivors include her husband Nelson “Bill” Armentrout of Maurertown, VA; her children Ricky Armentrout (Debbie), Peggy Polson, Lisa Drummonds (Keith); her grandchildren Dale Johnson (Kip), John Armentrout (Jamie), Heather Schrock (Cody), Tony Clem (Genesis), JJ Armentrout (Holly), Joey Polson, Kyle Kitchen, and Ashley Nichole Gheen; her great-grandchildren Nolan, Hayden, Caroline and Wynum Armentrout, Cheyenne and Lane Schrock.

The family would like to offer a special gratitude of thanks to Dale Johnson and Sharon Martin (and many others) for their loving care during her last days.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W.
