JoAnne Cooley Stickley 72 of Middletown, VA passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. A graveside service for Mrs. Stickley will be held for family and close friends at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA with Rev. Wendell Schurtz officiating. JoAnne was born in Winchester, VA on November 30, 1945 a daughter of the late Paul Garvin "Buddy" and Helen Jenkins Cooley. She retired from Rubbermaid Commercial Products where she worked as an inventory control clerk. She was a member and former President of the Middletown Fire & Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, a former Girl Scout Leader, loved cats and birds, was an avid photographer, a great cook and loyal fan of the Young & Restless. She was the widow of the late Johnnie Allen Stickley. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Garvin "Dickie" Cooley and a sister, Nancy Lee Church. Survivors include her children, Theresa Stickley Henson and husband Douglas Wayne of Middletown, VA, Susan Stickley Whittington and husband Earl Lee of Maurertown, VA; her grandchildren, Heidi Elizabeth Whittle of Stephens City, VA, Jonathan Eugene Henson and MaryEllen Lynn Henson both of Middletown, VA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
