Obituary

Jeffrey Lynn Coffman Sr. passed away at the age of 59 on March 11, 2017 in Bunnell, FL. He died in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Winchester, VA on August 21st, 1957 to the late Winfred Allen Coffman and Gladys Shirlene Mauck Coffman.

He is preceded in death by his three infant children and his mother Gladys Coffman who passed away a few days after his own death on March 14, 2017.

Jeff is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Lynn Coffman Jr. and Jarod Lee Coffman of Strasburg, VA and his daughter, Jessie Loretta and her husband Travis MacVittie of Maurertown, VA; two granddaughters, Kiarra Skye and Amelia Loretta MacVittie.

He is also survived by two brothers, Randall Allen and his wife Joyce Coffman of Middletown, VA and Keith Arnel and his wife Julie Coffman of Port Republic, VA; his Marine brother Randy Himes; Aunts and Uncles, Shirley Bott, Garland and Liz Mauck, Mary Vann, Bobby and Carolyn Mauck all of Woodstock, VA; nieces Amanda R. Higgs, Winchester, VA, Melissa Coffman, Stafford, VA, and nephew Paul J. Coffman, Maurertown, VA.

Jeff retired as an E7 Gunnery Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps in 1996. He served in the Persian Gulf War as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Warfare Specialist. He also served as a drill instructor at Parris Island, SC. After retiring from the marines, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a truck driver, which he did for 15 years.

Other than serving as a Proud Marine, Jeff also loved Harley Davidson. He enjoyed riding his bike and keeping it as nice as the day he bought it. He was an extremely funny guy who could make anyone laugh; the joy he brought to people with his comical side is something they will remember forever. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed every moment he got to spend with them.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 31 at the Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg, VA. The family will receive friends following the service.

He will be laid to rest beside his father and mother in a private family ceremony at the Sunset View Cemetery in Woodstock, VA.
