Jean Katherine (Bray) Southers

Jean Katherine Southers, 92, of Star Tannery, VA passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Southers was born in Washington D.C. on January 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Ethel Helene Dixon Bray, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Guy Southers, Sr. and a brother Martin Luther Bray, III.

Survivors include her children William Guy Southers, Jr., Robert David Southers, Donald Edward Southers, Susan Elizabeth Dellinger, Richard Douglas Southers, and Terrence Lee Southers; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; her siblings Helene Steele, Mildred Blake, and  Shirley Bray along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service for Mrs. Southers will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Cubbage officiating.  Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Strasburg, VA. 

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
