James Woodrum McFall, Sr. age 78, a resident of Lebanon Church, VA passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service for Mr. McFall will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery. He was born in Dickenson County, Virginia on January 13, 1933 a son of Carter McFall and Myrtle & Lester Mullins. He was U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was retired from J.W. McFall and Son Excavating. Survivors include his wife W. Jean McFall of Lebanon Church; his children, James W. McFall, Jr. and Deborah A. Young both of Lebanon Church, Paula McFall Irwin of Stephenson, VA; step-daughter, Carolyn Nehme of Boydton, VA; two brothers, Robert "Bob" McFall Sr. of Mountain Falls, VA, and Bernard "Skeeter" Mullins of Leesburg, VA; a sister, Carrie "Duck" Griffith of Waterford, VA; his grandchildren, Marie Railey, Jessica and Paul Young, Lily and Ella Irwin. Pallbearers will be Robert McFall, Jr., Martin Haley, Jon Gnegy, Danny Crider, Brian Williams, James Maynard. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Maynard and Ronnie Bolstridge. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 P.M. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
