Kranich, Sr.
October 10, 1917 – January 20, 2009
James Harold Kranich, Sr., age 91 a resident of Strasburg, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida. He was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on October 10, 1917 a son of the late, William & Bertha Fritzinger Kranich. He was a member of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in World War II. Mr. Kranich was retired from the Federal Government where he worked for the Army Material Command. He was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post #77 of Strasburg, the Strasburg Rotary Club, and the National Association of Federal Retired Employees. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Gloria Llorente Kranich of Strasburg, Virginia; his children, Christine Carman Kane and husband, Michael of Sterling, Virginia, James Harold Kranich, Jr., and wife, Jane of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Frances Ellen Kranich of Claremont, California.; his grandson, James Harold Kranich, III and wife, Catrina of Arizona; one brother, Robert "Bob" Kranich and wife, Bobbi of Strasburg, Virginia A funeral service for Mr. Kranich will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Strasburg. Military honors will be conducted by the Shenandoah American Legion Post #77 of Strasburg. Active pallbearers will be James H. Kranich, Jr., James H. Kranich, III, Michael Kane, Bob Kranich, Chauncey Kelley, Joe Lukowski, Donald Burke, and Abdon Llorente, Jr. The family will receive friends at the Stover Funeral Home from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday evening. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Strasburg Presbyterian Church, 325 S. Holliday St., Strasburg, Virginia 22657
