Jacquelyn "Jackie" Ellsworth Bourque, a champion of stewardship, community, and the arts, passed away on May 20, 2021. She was surrounded by loved ones at Blue Ridge Hospice, in Winchester, Virginia. Jackie was 76 years young.
Jackie, of Front Royal, Virginia, was born in Beaufort, South Carolina to parents Caroline Woods Peterson and Oliver Ellsworth. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Edward Peterson Sr., and sister, Karla Peterson.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Mervin P. Bourque Jr., two daughters, Patricia Stewart (Paul) and Christina Redden (Van Jr.), her brother, Edward Peterson Jr. (Jan), and her sister, Susan Braiden (Ron). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Laura Stewart, Jack Redden, and Tess Redden. She furthermore leaves behind friends and loved ones who were touched by the strength of her faith, her untiring spirit to serve, and the artistry with which she brightened our days.
Jackie requested a lively celebration of her life with music, memories, laughter, and love. This event will be held, rain or shine at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the R.R. Donnelly pavilion of the Strasburg Town Park, in Strasburg, Virginia.
