Iona Robinson Combs, age 86, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Lynn Care Center Front Royal, VA. A graveside service for Mrs. Combs will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Panorama Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wendell Schurtz officiating. The family will meet at Stover Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Saturday and go in procession to the cemetery. She was born in Strasburg, VA on June 25, 1926 a daughter of the late James Samuel and Mary Elizabeth Putman Robinson. She was a member of Walnut Springs Christian Church Disciples of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Philip Combs; siblings, Mary Elliott, Betty Keller, Hamp Robinson, and, Shirley Robinson; step daughter, Debbie Congdan. Survivors include her son, Wayne S. Broy of Strasburg, VA; step daughter, Bonnie Grenne and husband, David of Winchester, VA; granddaughters, Michelle Binebrink and husband, Mark of Strasburg, VA, and Betsy Schoefer and husband, Matt of Christ Church, VA; grandsons, Mike Greene (deceased) and wife, Cheryl of Winchester, VA, and Dan Greene and wife, Lori of Fayetteville, GA great-granddaughters, Peyton Binebrink, Allie and Skyla Schoefer; great-grandsons, Matthew Broy, Nicholas Binebrink, Carl Greene, Jack Greene, Dylan Greene, and Neil Greene; sisters, Gladys Fishel of Middletown, VA, Martha Grim of Strasburg, VA; brother, Ray Robinson of Strasburg, VA; her caregiver and friend, Beverly Crawford of Strasburg, VA; sister-in-law, Winnie Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Marshall Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson, Dennis Elliott, Steve Grim, Keith Keller, and Timmy Robinson.
