Henry Dean Obituary

Henry Albert Dean, age 88, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Greenfield Senior Living in Strasburg, VA.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Dean will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Howard officiating. Mr. Dean will be laid to rest privately.

Mr. Dean was born in Mullens, West Virginia on June 12, 1933, a son of the late McKinley Herald and Ellen Titta Dean. Mr. Dean was a graduate of Herndon High School in Herndon, West Virginia and attended Concorde University in Athens, West Virginia. He was a member of the Strasburg Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Mr. Dean retired from Columbia Gas Company having worked 45 years and retired as Superintendent. He served as a past President of the Strasburg Little League and was the Strasburg Coordinator for the Salvation Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirlee Cole Dean; an infant daughter Deborah Ann Dean and two siblings Herald Anthony Dean and Rheta Karen Dean Penick.

Survivors include his children Henry “Hank” Dean and wife Doris of Strasburg, VA, Timothy Alan “Tim” Dean and wife Christi of Woodstock, VA, Lori Ann Brown of Strasburg, VA, Jodi Alaine Pryor and husband David of Strasburg, VA; his grandchildren Jason Dean, Shannon Dean Brake (Justin), Natalee Dean Mapp, Kara Dean Keller (Brandon), Kalee Dean Ford (Joseph), Tad Dean, McKinley Dean, Christopher Norton, Logan Pryor, Evan Pryor, and Raegan Pryor along with ten great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Diehl, Bob Staneart, and Robert Costello.

Memorial may be made to Strasburg Presbyterian Church, 325 S. Holliday Street, Strasburg, VA 22657.
