Granville "Dave" Seekford

Granville David “Dave” Seekford Jr., 86, went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife Louise Virginia Linaweaver Seekford on January 18, 2025. 

Dave was born April 29, 1938, a son of the late Granville David “John” and Catherine Silvious Seekford.  Mr. Seekford graduated from Triplett High School and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.  Dave was a police officer for the City of Pensacola, FL.  He then went into the insurance business. He was proud to have achieved a Life Underwriter and his CLU.  He was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church where he was involved in several charitable programs.  Near and dear to his heart was the six cents a meal program.  In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son John David Seekford, and two brothers Donald “Peck” Seekford and Allen “Denny” Seekford.

Survivors include his daughters, Marian “Dee Dee” Butler, Theresa “Terry” Seekford, and Anita Seekford; a stepson Jimmy Raynor; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A graveside service for Mr. Seekford will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Sunset View Memorial Gardens. 

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Mountain View United Methodist Church, six cents a meal program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
