Gloria was born on February 3, 1942, in Woodstock, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Louie Alexander Lam, Sr. and Pauline Orndorff Lam, of Strasburg, Virginia.  Gloria grew up in Strasburg and graduated from Strasburg High School on June 8, 1960.  While in high school, she enjoyed singing in the chorus and was a varsity cheerleader.  Gloria met her husband of 12 years, Harvey Allen Snapp, while in high school, and after marrying they raised three daughters.

Gloria loved to sing and in her early 30's moved to Nashville, where she recorded a 2-song LP, hoping to become a country music singer.  She had a talent and green thumb for growing plants and flowers.  Her interest in floral design led her to having her own floral shop in Strasburg.  She participated and won awards in black powder gun shooting competitions.  She loved being with her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to shoot a bow and arrow.  She enjoyed sewing and making outfits for herself and her daughters when they were young.  She loved to cook and was very good at refinishing furniture.  She enjoyed the outdoors and watching the squirrels play.  Most recently, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, and eating her favorite sweets.

Gloria is survived by her three daughters Tina L. Snapp (Susan Leathery) of Annandale, VA, Samantha L. Baugher (Clay) of Bentonville, VA, and Melissa A. Snapp (Chris Beverlin) of Front Royal, VA; brother Douglas Lam (Nina) of Louisa, VA; sisters Shirley Beaty (Jack) of Front Royal, VA, JoAnn White of Stephen's City, VA, and Paula Troxell (Boyd) of Strasburg, VA.  She is also survived by her half-brother Louie A. Lam (Kay) of Knoxville, TN, and half-sister Ruby Touseull of Maryville, TN. Gloria is also survived by her four grandchildren Jessica Pfister, Abigail Baugher, Samuel Baugher, and Brendan Snapp, and two great-grandchildren Isaiah and Maeve Hall.

Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth Lam and Jerry R. Lam, half-sister Elizabeth White and half-brother Carson Lam.

Pallbearers will be Clay Baugher, Samuel Baugher, Brendan Snapp, Kenneth Rutherford, Jimmy Adams, and Tom Poe.

Donations in Gloria's name can be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, Virginia.
