Gloria Llorente Kranich passed away on July 2, 2018, in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She was born on Feb. 14, 1926 in San Francisco, California to Abdon Llorente of Manila, Philippines and Dolores Miranda Llorente of Los Angeles, California. When Mrs. Kranich was 4 years old, the family relocated to Manila, Philippines. She lived there for 11 years until the Philippine government sent her father and his family to fill a post in the Philippine Legation in Washington, D.C. After WWII, Gloria married James Harold Kranich and was married to him for 60 years until he passed on Jan. 20, 2009. They had 3 children who survive her passing: Christine Kranich Kane of Litchfield Park, AZ, James Harold Kranich, Jr. and wife Jane Kranich, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Frances Ellen Kranich and wife Tina Gallegos, of Upland, CA; her brother Abdon Llorente, Jr., of Henderson, NV, her grandson, James H. Kranich III and wife Catrina Kranich, of Goodyear, AZ, and three great-grandchildren Jordan Kranich, Isabella Kranich, and Alexander Kranich of Goodyear, AZ. Mrs. Kranich was a homemaker, realtor, Girl Scout Leader (12 years), PTA President (4 years), PTA Board member (23 years), Publicity Chairman for Prince Georges County PTA (4 years), Town Clerk for Forest Heights, MD (5 years), Member of Democratic Party of Maryland and Virginia. She sang alto with the National Cathedral Choral Society (5 years), the Front Royal Oratorio (4 years), and numerous church choirs. A memorial service will be held at the Strasburg Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery; a reception will follow at The Hotel Strasburg. Arrangements are in care of Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg, VA.
