Freddie Kay (Purvis) Wilkins

Freddie Kay Purvis Wilkins, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Evergreen Health & Rehab Center, Winchester, VA.

She was born May 24, 1945, in Winchester, VA a daughter of the late Amos Channing and Calla Mae Stockner Purvis.  Freddie Kay was an incredibly friendly and positive soul with seemingly boundless energy. She easily became good friends with everyone she met and truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as gardening, watching TV, walking & playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Wheeler Wilkins and two siblings A.C. Purvis and Jake Purvis.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Will and Sherri Wilkins of Hedgesville, WV; daughter and son in law, Shannon Wilkins and Gil Cozino of Front Royal, VA; nephews Jacob Purvis, Jr., Jonathan Purvis, and Charles “Chuck” Wilkins.

In keeping with Freddie Kay’s wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
