Frances Rebecca Malone Holtzman age 95, a resident of Lebanon Church passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.
A graveside service for Mrs. Holtzman will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Lebanon Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Racey officiating. Immediately following the graveside service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Laurel Hill Christian Church. Purple was a favorite color of Mrs. Holtzman, and everyone is encouraged to wear something purple to her service.
Mrs. Holtzman was born in West Virginia on July 3, 1926, a daughter of the late James Albert and Mamie Mary Sine Malone. She was a 1944 graduate of Wardensville High School and the only member of her family to graduate. She was married to the late Marvin William Holtzman, Jr. and was a farmer wife for 49 and a half years before his death. She was a life member of Laurel Hill Christian Church where she served as the secretary/treasurer of the C.W.F. group for many years. Mrs. Holtzman was an avid quilt maker and home maker who loved flowers of all kinds. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Bean along with seven siblings and was the last living member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Elaine Bean of Lebanon Church, VA; a granddaughter Kimberly Bean Gochenour (Jeff) of Star Tannery, VA; two great-grandchildren Bethany Gochenour Grooms (Brice) of Scottsville, VA and Ethan Gochenour of CA along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Edgar Dellinger, Earl Williams, George Williams, Dumpy Kump, Mark Lohr, and Jeff Gochenour.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.
