Ellen Mae (Weir) Grant

Ellen Mae Grant 95 of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service for Mrs. Grant will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Pastor Don Cherry officiating.  Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens.  

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Grant was born in Madison Heights, Virginia on November 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Jane Cash Weir.  She was a graduate of Madison Heights High School and was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church.  Mrs. Grant retired from General Electric and then dedicated her time volunteering in the community for over 25 years.  She volunteered at Greenfield Senior Living, and the Shenandoah Agency on Aging.  Mrs. Grant was known for donating stuffed animals to the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Pediatrics for children.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Wilburn Grant, Jr.; four brothers; two sisters one being her twin.   

Survivors include her children James Grant, III (Jetta Ruth) of Williamsburg, VA and Jeanne Talley (Kenneth) of Strasburg, VA; her grandchildren Heather Christine Grant, Shawna Marie Malone, Jeremiah Wayne Jenkins; step grandchildren Kara Taylor, Courtney Parker, Julia Gibson, Gayle Hoskovec, and Brooke Deems; her great-grandchildren Lucas Jenkins, Meredith Jenkins, Kaitlin Taylor, Morgan Parker, Mackenzie Parker, Medrick Deems, Elizabeth Hoskovec, Samantha Hoskovec, Rachel Hoskovec along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Jenkins, Cameron Malone, Kevin Taylor, Douglas Seibert, Matthew Parker, and Danny Fields.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Howard Paige.
