IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth "Kay"
Smith Seibert
May 25, 1948 – December 9, 2017
Elizabeth Kay Smith Seibert Elizabeth "Kay" Smith Seibert of Woodstock, Va joined her Heavenly Father on December 9, 2017. She was born in Winchester, Va on May 25, 1948. She lived her childhood years in Oranda, north of Strasburg, Va. and moved to Marlowe Heights, MD after graduating Strasburg High School in 1966. There she worked for the FBI until 1970 until she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Douglas Nelson "Nick" Seibert of Strasburg. Kay and Nick moved to Norfolk, Va in 1979 where they raised their three daughters, and joined the church family of St. Johns United Methodist Church remaining active members for 32 years. Kay worked as a Pre-School teacher at Calvin Preschool for 14 years, and later went to work for Norfolk Public Schools at Ghent Elementary until she retired in 2011. At that time, Kay and Nick returned to the Shenandoah Valley and made their home in Woodstock, Va. Anyone who knew Kay saw the heart and spirit of a true Christian woman. Kay was selfless and compassionate, and she lived a life of service. As a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and Woodstock United Methodist Church, she served as lay leader, youth group leader, Sunday school superintendent and teacher, member of the United Methodist Women, and volunteer at the Clothes Closet in Woodstock. Kay offered her time and talents abundantly through her work with the church, and enjoyed serving others by way of cooking meals and visiting the homebound and elderly. Though her heart for others goes unmatched, it was her unconditional love for her husband, her three girls, and her six grandchildren that was the truest gift. She built a beautiful marriage of 47 years that weathered storms and saw many blessings. She loved her girls with a love that can only come from a mother, and she shared the most special of bonds with each of her grandchildren who loved and adored their mamaw. She was a best friend, a rock, and a light for her family. We will always love you more.
