Earnest "Pete" Williams Obituary

Earnest Edward (Pete) Williams May 4, 1944-January 16, 2022

Earnest E (Pete) Williams 77 of Strasburg, VA passed away peacefully at his home with family; after battling a long-term illness.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. Mr. Williams will be laid to rest privately.

Pete was born in Narrows, VA, and was the son of the late Earnest E (Kale) Williams and Macie Blankenship Williams.

In the early 60’s he relocated to Arlington, VA, and started his career as a Master Concrete Finisher working for a local construction company. In the late 80’s he began working for Charles Sydnor Construction and was there until his retirement in 1998. They have remained friends all these years, and we Thank You Charlie, for all your love and support!

He met the love of his life MaryAnn, and they were married on November 21, 1964. They were happily married for 56 years. In the Fall of 1969, they found their forever home in Lebanon Church, VA, where they raised their three children; Brian, Amy, and Emily. After retirement Pete loved to work and fix things around his home and spend time with his kids and grandkids. He never met a stranger, and his love for his family and friends was everlasting. His legacy as a hard worker, loyal friend, an amazing husband, dad, and Pap Pap will forever be in our hearts.

He treasured his grandsons Carl, Will, and Charlie, and he was very proud of all their accomplishments. He loved and appreciated his son-in-law Billy, and daughter-in-law Kathy very much! Your encouragement and support was a blessing through this very difficult journey!

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, MaryAnn Janaskie Williams; sister, Martha Clarke of Detroit, MI; sister, Margie Simms of Peterstown, WV; sister, Clara Thorne of Narrows, VA; sister, Edna Brown of Narrows, VA; sister, Lorraine Hamilton of Narrows, VA; brother, Harold Williams of Narrows, VA.
