Douglas "Butch" Eugene Hodson, Jr.

Douglas Eugene “Butch” Hodson, Jr. 45 of Maurertown, VA passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital following a brief illness from a massive heart attack.

A funeral service for Butch will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Sonya Williams-Giersch officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. 

Butch was born in Winchester, VA on April 13, 1977, a son of Douglas Eugene Hodson, Sr. and Anne Marie Colvin Tevault.  He was a 1995 graduate of Strasburg High School, attended Grace Community Church and worked for Chemstone, Inc., Strasburg, VA as a sand plant operator.

Survivors include his mother Anne Marie Colvin Tevault of Maurertown, VA; his father Douglas Eugene Hodson, Sr. and wife Vivian of Baker, WV; his siblings Thad Hodson and wife Kathleen and Christina Whetzel and husband Cody; his maternal grandparents Jack and Shirley Colvin; his aunt Wendy Colvin; his beloved dog Chance along with a host of friends who will miss him dearly. 

Pallbearers will be Ryan Sonner, Joe Beall, Jeff Feathers, Michael Himelright, Tyler Diehl, and Tony Sine.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.

The family ask the expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Stover Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
