Densil Rickard

Densil Rickard, age 83, a resident of Lebanon Church, VA passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at his residence. 

A funeral service for Mr. Rickard will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Christopher Porter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lebanon Church Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA. 

Mr. Rickard was born in Middletown, VA on January 1, 1938 a son of Mabel Catherine Ryman Rickard and the late Francis Strother Rickard. Mr. Rickard was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, a life member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge 403, life member of the Wardensville V.F.W. Post 2102.  He played baseball and softball for over 30 years and played with the Star Tannery Hillbillies. 

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife Ruth E. Rickard of Lebanon Church, VA; his children, Ronnie Allen Rickard (Shayla) of Middletown, VA, and Sharon Russell (Allen) of Clear Brook, VA; his grandchildren, Robbie Rickard, Kristi Rickard, Bradley Russell, and Travis Russell; six great-grandchildren; his siblings, Chester Rickard (Charlotte) of Roebuck, SC, Roger Rickard, Larry Rickard (Becky), Linda McDonald (Dick), and Peggy Fleming all of Stephens City, VA along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Pallbearers will be Randy Rickard, Ritchie McDonald, Robbie Rickard, Mitchell Rickard, Daniel Rickard, Bradley Russell, and Travis Russell.
