Deacon Steven M. Clifford
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Deacon Steven Marvin Clifford, loving husband and father of two, was born into eternal life at the age of 71. He passed at home surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA. Deacon Seven Clifford will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021, at the St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA.
Steven Clifford was born in Logan, Utah on April 22, 1950, a son of the late Marvin Joseph and Else Fern Olsen Clifford. He served in many capacities during his lifetime. Steven was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Clifford was a veteran of 24 years where he served as an airman with the U.S. Air Force and later retired as a Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Army. Mr. Clifford spent 16 years in the IT field prior to his retirement. His highest calling was to serve God's people as a Permanent Deacon at Saint John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, Virginia from his ordination in 2014 to the end of his earthly life.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Annerose Koch Clifford; his beloved daughters, Caroline Spinelli (Ted) and Jenny Luetkemeyer (Paul); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sister Sue Kidman (Jerry).
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the St. John Bosco Catholic Church Building Fund.
