Leaving behind a legacy, David Bruce Stickley 68 of Middletown, VA passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at his residence. A graveside service for Mr. Stickley will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Richard McDowell officiating. A time of food and fellowship to celebrate David's life will be held Immediately following the service at the Wayside Inn, Middletown, VA. Friends are encouraged to attend the service on their motorcycles, as a tribute to Dave "Stic". Mr. Stickley was born in Winchester, VA on March 13, 1950 a son of the late Romeo Copp and Evelyn Marie Whitney Stickley. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, a member of Ridings Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired stone mason. Mr. Stickley enjoyed country living along with his pet pig, Iggy. He enjoyed his gardening, motorcycle, four-wheelers, making wine and was very creative at building small necessities that saved him money. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Stickley Belford. Survivors include his daughter Tara Jo Stickley of Middletown, VA; his siblings, Rebecca Sue Stickley of Middletown, VA, Bonnie Marie Stickley of Winchester, VA and Mike Stickley of Middletown, VA along with many friends who will miss him greatly. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening.
