David Bruce McQuain, 73, of Strasburg, VA passed away suddenly on Monday, February 17, 2025, at WVU Berkley Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.
David was born in Fishersville, VA on February 3, 1952, a son of the late Richard Lewis and Zona Edna Grace Phares McQuain. He was a graduate of George Mason University, a jack of all trades who would help anyone in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Shane Cogswell, a granddaughter Jaylyn Cogswell, and a sister Juanita Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy McQuain; his children Ashley Bott (Joey), Sonny Cogswell, Allan Daly, and Cameron Cogswell; his grandchildren Braelynn, Owen, Micah, Jennifer, and Colleen; his great-grandchildren Nylah, Harmony, April, and Kolsen; his siblings Cindy Fortney, and Gary McQuain (Rebecca); special sister-in-law Sandy Anderson along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home with his son Joey Bott officiating. Burial will follow in Detrick Cemetery, Fort Valley, VA. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Cogswell, Allan Daly, Cameron Cogswell, Clarence Carter, Jesse Baker, Jonathan Robinson, and Mike Gonzalez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Owen Bott and Micah Bott.
