Daniel Lee Cooke, Jr., age 68 a resident of Toms Brook passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at his residence. A funeral service for Mr. Cooke will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kevin Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post # 77 of Strasburg and the Spurmont Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 98 of Strasburg. He was born in Frederick County, VA on April 6, 1942 the son of Daniel L. Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Smith Cooke. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He retired from Johns Manville, Inc. in Edinburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Marie Cooke. Survivors include His wife, Betty Garrett Cooke of Toms Brook; a son, Matthew Mueller Cooke and wife Phyllis Marie of Gainsville; three daughters Donna Lee Wilson and husband Marshall Craig of Front Royal, Dawn Lynn Stout and husband, James Frederick of Strasburg, and Anna Marie Long and husband, Gregory Gene of Strasburg; Grandchildren, Dustin Lyn Clark and wife, Betsy, Brent Alan Funkhouser, Camron Allen McInturff, Olivia Danielle Stout, Tatyana Nichole Stout, Keegan Miles Cooke, Madison Elizabeth Marie Cooke, Miranda, Mason, and Pamela Shree Long.; a sister, Patricia Ann Cooke of Strasburg; special friends, Kenzy McKelvey, Timmy McCotter, Mildred Minton, and Denyelle Strother. Pallbearers will be Holt Bott, Charlie Bly, Jerry Pangle, Greg Humberson, Jerry Elbon, and William Snarr Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Hockman, Raymond Elbon, and Earl Cutlip The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 P.M.
