Obituary

Chester Cecil Norris, age 73, a resident of Bunker Hill, West Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Winchester. A funeral service for Bro. Cecil will be conducted on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, 189 Parson Court, Winchester, VA with Rev. Jeff Dillon officiating. A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester. A fellowship lunch will be provided immediately following the internment service on Wednesday at the Winchester Church of God. Bro. Cecil was born July 1, 1940 in Pike County, Alabama, a son of the late Wester Leon and Bertha Mae Rainey Norris. He was a loyal and devoted member of Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church where he served as the head usher. He was employed by Evergreen Lawn Care for the past 7 years and was retired from Donald E. Athey Floor Sanding, Winchester after 40 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe and two sisters, Kathleen and Lillian. Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis Elaine Veach Norris; a beloved son Joseph William Norris of Winchester; a granddaughter, Skylar Lane Norris of Winchester; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Ruth Elaine Bryant; four sisters, Emma Bodiford of Lavern, Alabama, Mary Messer of Albany, Georgia, Louann Campbell of Bunker Hill, West Virginia and Cheryl Bradbury of Goshen, Alabama; three brothers, Junior Norris of Romney, West Virginia, James Norris of Goshen, Alabama and John Norris of Albany, Georgia. Pallbearers will be John Kamenelis, Bob Windsor, Lyndel Sulser, George Thomas, Luke Stevens and Steven Merritt. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. To 7:30 p.m. at Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, 189 Parson Court, Winchester Memorial donations may be made to any First Bank branch, c/o Cecil Norris Memorial Fund.
