Charlotte Louise Miller Funk, age 87, of Strasburg passed away Friday, February 12, 2010, at Greenfield Reflections of Strasburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Strasburg, with Rev. Dr. Richard J. Goeres officiating. Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Funk was born November 23, 1922, in Frederick County, a daughter of the late Lester L. Miller, Sr. and Nellie M. Legg Miller. She was the wife of former Strasburg Mayor Robert L. Funk, Jr., who predeceased her in 1998 after 56 years of marriage. Together they owned and operated Bob's Grocery in Strasburg for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was very active in her community, and some of her favorite memories were of downtown Strasburg and playing bridge and canasta with her friends. Surviving are her sons, Robert L. Funk, III of Strasburg and W. Michael Funk and wife, Jennifer, of Woodstock; two grandchildren, Mary Catherine Funk of Morgantown, WV, and Nicholas Robert Funk of Woodstock; a sister, Betty M. Clem of Strasburg; five brothers, Kenneth E. Miller of Alexandria, Lester L. Miller, Jr., Donald L. Miller and Larry D. Miller, all of Strasburg, and James J. "Joe" Miller of Zepp. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl A. Miller, Paul L. Miller and Leo W. Miller, and one sister, Agnes M. Horan.
